This page helps you get up and running with XMPP (aka Jabber) in a matter of minutes. You can learn more afterward, but for a Quick Start, this is more than enough.
XMPP address. An XMPP address looks like an email address but is used for instant messaging.
Providers. There are many XMPP providers (xmpp.jp, sure.im, chapril.org, draugr.de, etc.), similar to email providers (gmail.com, hotmail.com). You can send messages from [email protected] to [email protected], just as you can send an email from [email protected] to [email protected].
No phone numbers! You don't need a phone number or email to register for an XMPP account! Plus, you can create as many accounts as you want and manage them all in a single app.
Encryption. XMPP provides end-to-end encryption, typically prompting users to enable it in each conversation. Additionally, some apps have it enabled by default.
Trusted. And finally, why can you trust XMPP? It is one of the oldest instant messaging protocols. It is used by the military and by individuals engaging in criminal activities such as hackers and drug dealers. These individuals are betting their lives and freedom on communication, so they know what they are doing.
Important note! One of the most important things to note is that before sending a message to anyone on XMPP, you should first add their address to your contacts. This action sends them a notification, and after they accept it, you'll be able to send messages to them.

You can find more clients on this page .
As with email, you need an account with a service provider. Some can be registered by visiting a URL, while many can be registered directly within the app by going to Accounts -> New Account (or a similar menu option). If you do not find the registration section on the website, try registering directly in the client. Just put the provider's address (e.g., sure.im) into the field.

Send us a hello message at [email protected] to test it out and let us know if this Quick Start was helpful! Remember that you need to add a contact first before sending a message.
Some information was taken from xmpp.org , and we encourage everyone to visit this site, as it contains many useful pieces of information and curated lists of actual apps and providers.
Many users may not be familiar with XMPP when they see an XMPP address on your site, which can prevent them from messaging you. You can add a little button to the XMPP Quick Start to kickstart their interaction and eliminate barriers to communicating with you!
